Thank you to the Young Democrats of Cook County who travelled to San Francisco with me to help with my race.
Becoming apart of the Young Democrats allows one the opportunity to be actively involved in the political process. Young Democrats receive first-hand experience in campaigns and elections, grassroots organizing, fundraising, legislative lobbying and state and local party activism, just to name a few. There are many ways in which one can become involved with the Young Democrats. There are four different levels of involvement which collectively have one common goal to encourage youth involvement in the Democratic Party. The four levels of involvement are: national, state, county and local levels.

Young Democrats of America is a nationwide grassroots organization with 42 chartered states and 780 local chapters. Their 43,000 plus membership reflects the broad diversity of our nation and the Democratic Party. This includes high school students, college students, young workers, young professionals and young families. All of the members have the interest of their community at heart and work hard to affect the democratic process. The Young Democrats of America work hard to elect democratic candidates, encourage youth involvement, support and instill the ideals of the Democratic Party, and provide young people with skills and experience for their professional growth and development.

Young Democrats of Illinois is apart of the Great Lakes Region (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio) of the Young Democrats of America. The Young Democrats of Illinois is the official youth arm of the Democratic Party of Illinois (ildems.org). Our honorary chairman is Speaker of the House Michael J. Madigan. YDI is comprised of multiple county YD groups and various ward and township YD groups from Cook County.
YDI promotes and develops responsible and efficient state government by encouraging young people in every county of Illinois to actively participate in civic political activities and to give support to Democratic candidates.

The Young Democrats of Cook County is the official youth arm of the Cook County Democratic Party. The Young Democrats of Cook County promote and develop responsible and efficient local government by encouraging young people in every community in Cook County to actively participate in civic political activities and to give support to candidates for public office who have been approved by the Regular Democratic Organization.
8th Ward Young Democrats
The 8th Ward Young Democrats promote and develop an active interest in governmental affairs, encourage people in every precinct of the 8th Ward to actively participate in civic political activities and give support to candidates for public office who have been approved by the 8th Ward Regular Democratic Organization. The 8th Ward Regular Democratic Organization is lead by Committeeman John H. Stroger. Committeeman Stroger is also President of the Cook County Board ( http://www.cookcountygov.com/) and 4th District Commissioner to the Cook County Board.
